Looking to make a change, let’s start with turning that bedroom retreat you deserve!

We have all been spending more time at home, probably more than ever!  With that being said, I bet many of you are trying to imagine ways to change things up. At TAB, we want to help by starting a series weekly tips for assisting in making these changes.
If you have big dreams, like a kitchen remodel for example, those types of changes a substantial investment is required.  If you are not financially in a position for big dreams at this but just can’t seem to live with it any longer, we do offer financing options.  For more information email Trish at tbonney@tabinteriordesigns.com.

For now, we want to start a little smaller but in an extremely important space that can make a huge impact in your daily life…the main bedroom!  We want to begin here as this is where you start and end your day.  It is where you recharge those mental batteries and where you should be most relaxed for optimal health.  So let’s go through our top six, step by step ways to make some easy and budget friendly changes so you can have the retreat you deserve!

Now keep in mind…this is just our top six, if you need more assistance or have more questions give us a call at the office at 720-532-6833 Mon-Fri from 10am-4pm or click above to make an appointment.

1. Spoil yourself…

The first step would be to indulge in and spoil yourself with new, quality bedding. Let’s be honest, worn sheets and prefab comforter sets don’t bring the sweetest of dreams. At TAB, we offer custom bedding and linens as shown in our project photos.  We have luxurious, quality fabric options that allow for us to create a set specifically for you while making your bed a real cozy focal point! Lastly, if you struggle to envision the space when deciding on your new bedding, we can create a photo-realistic rendering (as shown at the top of the page) for you to review before you commit!

2. Tidy up…

All too often, nightstands become an end of day dumping site for hair bands, books, jewelry, and night time drinks. Take a moment to take everything off while dusting items as you go. Next, organize and find better suited places for the unnecessary accumulation. Once completed with that return a bedside lamp, the book you are currently reading, a sentimental photo, and a relaxing scented candle.  A quick way to update the nightstand is finding that beautiful lamp that offers ample lighting.  If a little assistance is needed…at TAB we love offering unique options for that final touch!

3. Simplify Technology…

While in the cleaning mode, find clips to help conceal cords and find a docking station outside of the bedroom for cellphones so not to disturb your much needed rest.  If you have to have a television, maybe enclose it (behind artwork or mini barn doors for example). Best option though for that TV is to take it out of the bedroom all together and keep your sanctuary the restful retreat that is should be.

4. Support is Key…

Your mattress affects your quality of sleep, but it can also severely affect your health and well-being. Experts suggest replacing your mattress after 10 years of use. For max support, it is recommended to have a mattress with double-spring layers – the top layer shapes to the body’s contours, while the bottom layer absorbs weight distribution for ultimate comfort. Switch out pillows every 1-2 years to prevent allergen build-up and so to offer quality sleep.

5. Space Planning…

A quick and easy way to spice things up in a space is to change your furniture arrangement. But with that being said, don’t strain and just jump the gun! Grab some graph paper and a measuring tape and first create ‘blocks’ to represent your furniture and cut them out. On another sheet, draw the outline of your room (make sure to draw in windows and door swings) and then play around with the arrangement until you find what works best for you. Once you are done and feel like you have the best fit for your space,THEN actually move things around.

6. Accessorize…

We hear often from clients that they struggle with accessorizing, so if this is you just give us a call and we can easily assist!

If you think you can handle it…beautiful vases with simple dried flower arrangements, artwork that complements the space while bringing you joy, and sentimental items in small doses spread thoughtfully throughout the space are our favorite options when filling with final touches.  And remember, if you can’t envision we can create those wonderful photo-realistic renderings for you!

All of the beautiful photography is thanks to Justin Martin Photography and each photo is of a TAB Interior Designs original project.  The rendering at the top of the page was gorgeously created by TABs very own, Maira Santos.  All bedding in the photos are TAB Interior Designs custom bedding originals and in the rendering, this is a proposal for custom bedding for an existing TAB client that we can’t wait to produce!
